CARE – Christians Actively Reaching Everyone

“Our only desire is to see God’s people understand the Great Commission and for them to have opportunities to exercise their God-given spiritual gifts to C.A.R.E. for those around them.” – Mark Hunnicutt. Mark, Pastor of Ministries at Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC, developed the CARE ministry out of this desire. The C.A.R.E. ministry sees the church as a people not a steeple. This ministry mobilizes every member in your church to use his or her gifts. It helps them see the church as bodies and members instead of bricks and mortar. The C.A.R.E. ministry balances the Great Commission. CARE balances the Great Commission and is more than just outreach. It’s about in-reach (meeting needs) and up-reach (prayer). The time demand is one hour a month. Being able to keep a commitment and exercising their gift produces fruit! C.A.R.E. saturates the church and community with a positive message. The people of Ochre Hill Baptist Church do indeed CARE.

The Ochre Hill CARE team consists of:

Prayer Team: Meets with the sole purpose of praying for the needs of the church and community.

Touch Team: Outreach to community in a variety of ways. For example, the team recently sent candy and a Gospel message to all winter athletes at Smoky Mountain High School. The team also prepared scripture flip books for local rest home residents.

Card Team: Sends personalized get well, birthday, anniversary, and encouragement cards to church members and their families.

Visitation Team: Visits in homes of shut-ins and prospects.

The C.A.R.E. team meets on the fourth Sunday evening of each month at 5:00 pm .
